"London’s best chefs unite for Valencia"

On 13 December 2024, London's culinary elite gathered at Arros QD, the renowned restaurant of Spanish chef Quique Dacosta, for a charity dinner supporting flood relief efforts in Valencia, Spain. The event featured celebrated chefs such as Nieves Barragán Mohacho (Sabor), Robin Gill (Darby’s), Angela Hartnett (Murano), Hélène Darroze (Hélène Darroze at The Connaught), Ashley Palmer-Watts (The Devonshire), Aleixandre Sarrion (Private Chef), and Eduardo Idrobo (Arros QD), each presenting a signature dish. Actor and food enthusiast Stanley Tucci introduced the evening, which also included a live auction with prizes from notable figures like Claude Bosi, Tom Kerridge, and Michel Roux Jr. All proceeds were directed to 'Desde Valencia Para Valencia', a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting communities affected by the recent flooding.

"Quique Dacosta does paella and more"

Arros QD, the London venture of celebrated Spanish chef Quique Dacosta, is a paella lover's dream. Located in Fitzrovia, the restaurant showcases an open kitchen where diners can watch the artistry behind their iconic rice dishes, alongside a menu of innovative starters and grilled delights. Highlights include the "cheese stones," with a creamy Manchego and Parmesan center, and the indulgent "truffle bomb." Whether seated by the kitchen or relaxing in the upstairs bar, guests are treated to a modern twist on Spanish gastronomy.

"Why paella will be the dish of the summer"

Arros QD, the first international venture by acclaimed Spanish chef Quique Dacosta, brings the authentic flavors of Valencia to London's Fitzrovia district. The restaurant centers around traditional paella, prepared over wood fires using various woods like beech and apple to impart unique flavors. Dacosta emphasizes the importance of fire in both cooking and ambiance, with the restaurant's decor reflecting the colors and elements of flames. The kitchen combines traditional wood-fired methods with modern gas hobs equipped with precise timing technology to ensure the perfect preparation of delicate ingredients. A key feature of their paella is the 'socarrat,' the flavorful crust formed at the bottom of the pan, which Dacosta regards as essential to the dish's authenticity.
